Great view, great lunch at Dedes Watergrill, Lavender Bay

It has been a while since I ventured to North Sydney to meet my brother for lunch. We have been so busy on the weekends that we haven’t really had the time to catch up! We caught up one fine sunny day, and he suggested this place, Kirribili Club which can be found in the heart of Lavendar Bay. It’s a beautiful club – I never knew its existence if it wasn’t for F! As the name suggests, it’s a club, and those within the 5kms radius must become a member to enter.

We ate at Dedes Watergrill, sat outside and look at this amazing view! It was a beautiful, gorgeous day in Sydney!

We started with the toasted garlic butter foccacia ($4). I LOVE garlic butter foccacia, the garlic butter was subtle, the foccacia was moist and fluffy and absolutely delicious!

F opted for fish head fillets beer battered with salad, fries and coriander and caper aioli ($24.50). Three generous serving of fish fillets, which were moist but firm. The batter was on the heavier side, but it was crispy and crunchy and dipped in aioli it was excellent. I am a sucker for aioli. The thick cut chips were nice but I do prefer thin crispy chips!

I couldn’t go pass the salt and pepper squid with baby herb salad, chili syrup and balsamic reduction ($24). It was lightly battered, which was probably a good thing, as it wasn’t heavy. I love the fresh salad which was drizzled with balsamic – it was light and refreshing.

If seafood is not your thing, they do serve poultry, meat and lamb. They also serve pasta and risotto and if you have kids, they have special kids meal.

It’s a great venue, perfect to meet with friends, families or even visitors from overseas and soak in a bit of sun and take in some of the finest views Sydney has to offer. This would be the perfect place for New Years Eve, but I can imagine the place will be booked out.

It was so lovely to catch up with you dear brother, I have missed our chats!
